Partners Information: The Seishun 18 Ticket（seishun juhachi kippu, meaning something like “youth 18 ticket ”) is a seasonally available railway ticket which allows the holder five days of unlimited rides on local and rapid JR – Japan Railways) trains for only 11,850 yen or (approx 2,370 yen per day).
Travelling on the Shinkansen (bullet train) is also a great way to travel, but the Seishun 18 kippu allows you to explore a different side of Japan.
Some local trains run through valleys, some along breathtaking coastlines and there are even steam locomotives that run through the forest with steam coming out of the smokestack.
The Seishun 18 kippu is only available during summer and winter and although it’s called a youth ticket, it can be used by people of any age .
Everyone is eligible to purchase and use the ticket, including overseas tourists, Japanese nationals and non-Japanese Japan residents.
However, there is no child ticket available.
The Seishun 18 kippu is a non-personal transferable ticket, meaning that it can be used either by one person on five days or be shared by up to five different people .

Usage
The ticket is valid only on local trains (futsudensha), and rapid trains (kaisoku）operated by Japan Railways (JR). Furthermore , it is also valid on the JR ferry to Miyajima.
The Seishun 18 kippu is not valid on express trains (kyuko), limited express trains (tokkyu) and bullet trains (shinkansen).
Where to buy
The Seishun 18 kippu can be bought at Central Japan Travel Center at Chubu Centrair International Airport 2F arrival lobby as well as any Midori-no-Madoguchi (JR Ticket Office) and Travel Service Centers located at most JR train stations.
