Tokyo Disney Resort® will hold celebrations to mark the 15th year anniversary of the grand opening of Tokyo DisneySea® Park, from 15th April 2016 to 17th March 2017, entitled “Tokyo DisneySea 15th Anniversary: The Year of Wishes”.
Tokyo DisneySea first opened its doors on 4th September 2001 as the only Disney Park themed to the sea. The theme of the Park’s 15th anniversary is “wishes”, representing people’s hopes and dreams for the future. During the celebration, colourful crystals symbolising individual wishes will decorate the Park. These “Crystals of Wishes” will also be worn by Mickey Mouse and their Disney Friends. For example, Minnie Mouses’s red crystal represents her wish for love. Donald Duck’s blue crystal symbolises friendship and Goofy’s green crystal represents his wish for energy. Mickey Mouse’s clear crystal represents all of these wishes.
A brand new show “Crystal Wishes Journey” will première at the Park’s Mediterranean Harbour area on 15th April, the opening day of the celebration. On the same day, a new version of “Big Band Beat”, the popular show presented at the Broadway Music Theatre will début with new music, costumes and scenes. Re-imagined for the first time since it opened in July 2006, the show will feature all new elements while retaining the excitement of the original production.
On 9th July, a brand new musical show “Out of Shadowland” will première at the Hangar Stage in Lost River Delta. This colourful show will incorporate vivid images and powerful, moving live performances as dynamic scenes unfold, leading guests to a world never experienced before.
Mickey Mouse and his Disney Friends will greet guests in American Waterfront wearing special 15th anniversary costumes and riding on one of the Big City Vehicles. Also from 15th April, guests can enjoy the new fireworks spectacular “Sky High Wishes”, accompanied by the 15th anniversary theme song.
Along with the new entertainment program the Park will also offer new photo-taking locations, limited 15th anniversary merchandise items and special menus in the cafes and restaurants.
